So you are thinking about planning a summer pool party? There is truly nothing that kids look forward to more than a special pool party. If you have a pool in your backyard why not add a little bit of decoration to it for your pool party. Most feel that the pool itself is really decoration enough, but you can add a few additional touches to the mix.
The first thing that you can do is add some color to the inside of the pool. They sell some very decorative looking floats, which can easily be inflated and placed inside of the swimming pool. If you have a particular theme going you can try to find floats with coincide with your theme. If you don’t really have a specific theme you can just purchase a lot of beach balls and throw them in the pool. For those who have an above ground pool, I have found it to be fun to add some décor to the sides of the pool. We always liked putting little hanging fish on the side of the pool. What is really nice about this is that you can create it yourself.
Start by visiting your local toy store and purchase several plastic fish. Once you have the fish you will want to take a pair of scissors or a knife and cut a hole in the top of the plastic fish. Be very careful not to hurt yourself when doing this, and make sure that the children are not anywhere in the area. I have also found that a hand held whole puncher will do the job as well and is a bit on the safer side. Once you have the hole in the top of the fish you can take a piece of string, loop it through, tie it in a knot, and you’re done. You can then use heavy duty tape to secure the top of the string to the side of the pool. Don’t worry about the tape coming off, if you use strong enough tape it will last through the entire party. The same can be done with hanging fruit if you don’t like the fish idea or even hanging flowers. You just have to visit he store and see what really stands out most to you. Take the time to do a little bit of browsing at the store, and you may be able to find something that is even more unique.
